sinkhole disaster ABANDONED Centralia, Ghost Town - Pennsylvania | Documentary (The Silent Hill)

This is a short documentary of the existing conditions of Centralia once home to over a 1,000 residents. We also share some facts from how this town came from a fully functional and independent valley to a ghost town due to a underground mine coal fire that still burning today. It started with a fire intentionally set to burn out a landfill before Labor Day in 1962 — the problem was that the landfill was also an old strip-mine pit connected to a maze of abandoned underground mining tunnels full of coal.

Today the fire has move south from Centralia, but only 4 residents remain there.
